Why Access?
Using Microsoft Access™ I am able to develop software in approximately half the time a Visual Basic (or similar programming language) application would take. For all but the biggest databases this works just fine. Plus for added performance, Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL can be used for the data storage part of a custom application. Microsoft Access is the most cost effective relational database solution I have found for small to medium sized businesses.
Call for references or for an appointment to see some of my past work. You will be surprised at what can be created.
Why Custom?
I have found that for most business needs, off the shelf products don’t fit your requirements closely enough to be as functional, useful, or user friendly as a custom piece of software. Off the shelf products need to work for a wide range of products, services and business processes. They often have a lot of functionality that never gets used and do a poor job of reporting. Custom software, on the other hand, does an exceptional job of meeting your specific needs and because it is designed around your business processes, is easier to train, learn and use.
Again, please call for references or for an appointment to see some of my past work so you can see for yourself.
Why Outsource?
Save money and get the best talent.
I’m sure you would love to have multiple technology experts on staff at all times but the cost is just too high, especially for highly qualified individuals. So how can you best utilize your IT dollars?
Outsource specific technology tasks to consultants. This way you can have the best talent for part time prices. How do you know you are getting the best talent?
Do a little leg work up front and call references. The more references offered the better I feel about working with a technology consultant. In database applications there are two references to talk to – the owner/decision maker and the end user. Owners want to get decision making information out of a system and end users want an easy to use system with little training needed. Talk to both.
